Default leaking gas tank at dash screw holes

I been driving my 30 rattler pickup for a few weeks now and yesterday I filled it up with gas to full mark , big mistake , I had gas dripping on floor boards while driving and had no fire extenisher ...I shut it down and removed dash and tried to plug screw hole but not much luck ,I was near home so I drove it expecting an explosion at any second ,but got home and plugged hole with Permatex and put screw back in ..it worked..but now I have to wait until gas level gets below bad screw hole for a permanent repair ..sc
