The 1929 Sport Coupe I recently acquired has a B head (on a model A block) and B carburetor. I recently timed it using Les Andrew's procedure. The car seems to run OK. However, I have no basis for comparison as this is the only Model A I've ever owned.
Is the timing setup different for a car with a higher compression head and a B carb.? Thanks for any guidance you can give me here. |

Hi With Hi Compression heads I have set the timing the same to start with and adjusted as necessary normally the higher the compression the less ignition advance due to faster flame travel

The head has a C on it which I've come to understand is referred to as a B head.

That head does not have much more compression than a stock A head.
See the link to Vince's site http://www.fordgarage.com/pages/ABcy...comparison.htm Bob |
