I was told years back, to drain a battery and purchase new acid, recharge battery and this will give new life to your battery. Has anybody used this and will it work or is this work or is this an old story?
Thanks for all your help Jerry 25 TA |

probably not, the sulfates created by the use of the battery flake off and fall to the bottom of the plates in batt and short them out

Doesn't make sense. The acid remains during use and the water evaporates. It's O.K. to add water, not acid.

I revitalized two5 year old 12 volt batteries like that but first washed out each cell upside down to remove the sediment. Added new electrolyte and they lasted another 7 count them 7 years. They were cheap autozone batteries. Did I mention I also sank them in my airboat?

A teaspoon of Epsom salts in each cell will rejuvenate it for awhile.
