Question Vicky Door Post

A friend is doing a lot of interior restoration work on a newly acquired Vicky and he showed me a piece of steel that was in the bottom of the door posts - front side at the bottom. It is about 4 inches long with a few holes through it. It is approximately 1/2 in by 1/2 inch square. There is nothing screwed to it, it just sits there on both sides. I have never seen anything like it in my sedans.

Does anyone know the purpose for these pieces?

Thanks,
Vic

a picture is as good as one thousand words. I do not remember any part like that in a Victoria. there is an angle on the sub frame to the door post and two screws in the bottom of the door post to the sub frame . if you can't put a picture on fordbarn send it to me. [email protected] John
