Hey Guys, just got my '35 Tudor up and running with a higher HP Flat head than was stock, ( approx 160HP ). I have a stock 4:11 rear. Revving pretty high over 40MPH and it feels a little squirrely over 55MPH. Think I need taller and wider tire / wheel combo on rear? What Tire Wheel combo can I use to improve. Was thinking a pair of pickup wheels with larger tires?

6.50, 7.00, 7.50's will all go on, each one looking more hot-roddy in turn. If it's just the revs that are a concern, 3.78's should be easy to find, 3.54's can be bought new, and if you want to spend money a Mitchell overdrive can be fitted, or a columbia rear.
You don't need the wider rims, but if you can get them easily, there's no harm in using them. It just depends how original you want it to look. Mart. |
