Default Help accelerator linkage install!!!!!!

Help fordbarners surley one of you wise men have a trick for installing the accelerator linkage on the engine ......oh did I mention the engine is reinstalled in the car already.......... some idiot [me] put the rebuilt engine back in the car, now the gas pedal is holding up the accelerator bracket I know I should have put it on the engine on the engine stand.....na too easy!!!! Is there a trick out there ....from inside the car???? upside down I think I can pull the head and do it that way or drop the engine down a little....just need encouragement......Help .......I gotta get to the NE Meet on Cape cod! thanks bobbycoke
