Anyone know if the water pump bolts on a '40 engine were painted? Also, what color was the trans. in a '32?

The pumps were painted before they were attached to the block, hence the fasteners were not painted, but rather plated (cadmium or S7 in Ford parlance). The '32 transmission case and shift lever housing were painted the same color as the engine block and cylinder heads, namely Ford engine green enamel.
