Anyone ever run across a modern paint that will pass for Phoenix Brown? Seems like I saw somewhere a note saying that Sherwin-Wms had a house paint called Homestead Brown that might make it. Anyone run across that?

Most paint suppliers have a computer that will match a sample. Do you have a paint chip or a small piece painted Phoenix Brown? There is a small paint chip in the Model A Ford Paint & Finish Guide book. I don't know if it is big enough for the computer to analyze.

I just went thru this. If there is a Dupont auto paint store available ask to see their color book code YS 147. They can verify that number with the year and name of the color. I looked at several of Duponts color chips and they were dead on with the Paint and Finish Guide chips. TCP Global also has a PPG code will spray an approx 6x9 inch card and send it for around thrity five dollars.
