OK, seems I’m finally at that exciting milestone of the first engine start up/carb adjustment.
Given my slight OCD, I would like to put together a ‘checklist’ of ‘must do’ items to recheck prior to the first attempt. Goal is to not setback (or destroy) the past 13+ years of love/effort on this journey. I’m open to even the obvious (i.e., take out of gear) hints. Thanks to everyone for your continued support and encouragement. |

I looked mine over slowly and made sure that I did not forget any bolts or nuts. Made sure everything was hooked back up properly. Check the oil and water.
Good Luck Tom..... |

Charles I know you are anxious but take your time and double check everything. I am guessing you prelubed everything with assembly lube. I would make sure I poured the first quart down the distributor shaft hole to make sure the mains get oil in the first spin up. Good luck make us Okies proud!

Don't let it just sit there and idle. Rev it up and down several times to seat the rings. Then you're ready to drive it at varying speeds. If the rings seat properly your engine will have max power and will not spit oil out the filler tube.
