I researched this question but did not find anything about tjis.
I have just installed a set of 16" wheels that came with my car to see if I would like the handle & ride. After installing them I found a set of open end lug nuts in the box of hub caps. Should I use that type lug nut or will the Model A lug nut be ok? Thanks |

I don't think it matters which style lug nuts you use. If they are 35 spoke wheels they should fit fine. Solid steel wheels sometimes dont seem to leave you much thread on the lug studs.

If the 16 inch wheels are solid rims did you remember the adapter (assuming mechanical brakes)? If they are wire wheels there shouldn't be a problem (mechanical brakes). If you have hydraulic brakes post what you have. See
http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...ns#post8330045 If the lug nuts go all the way on without bottoming out there shouldn't be a problem. Charlie Stephens |

I used the original 1929 lug nuts on mine, no problems.

Thanks for the thumbs up on the Model A Lug nuts. I thought so but wanted to hear it from others that have run other size wheels. I do have hydrolic brakes & they do have the spacers on the drums.

The lug nuts will work fine but your Model A will look funny with the wrong wheels.
