My 69 Ford has a pinion seal that is leaking. The rear end is a 9" Ford . How hard of a job is it to just replace the pinion seal? Am I going to have issues with pinion depth adjustment if I just remove the yoke and replace the seal?

a. Count the number of threads exposed on the end of the pinion gear. You will need to put the nut on the exact same way it is now. b. Mark the location of the pinion flange in relation to the nut and the gear. Make a straight line on these three parts to ensure they are placed in their proper positions again. http://connect.timken.com/how-to-rep...nion-seal-leak Last edited by Dobie Gillis; 06-11-2013 at 08:52 AM. |
