I hate to pay $17.50 plus shipping for a tool I might use one time & see it sit for the rest of my time. Does anyone have a simple method or tool to depress the modern bendix to install it on the armature shaft? Maybe a picture you can post? Thanks

One ig screwdriver to pry back the washer, and one little screwdriver to unscrew part way the set screw. And a vise. Put the drive in teh vis, , pry back the large washer, unscrew the set crew enough to hold back the washer, slide it on the shaft, screw in the set screw, and you are done.

It's a little awkward, like wrestling a monkey with boxing gloves on...

Thanks for the tips & the pictures. I have installed a modern bendix in the past without any problem but the new one has a very stiff spring. Charles
