I have a 31 4 door and I noticed the right front tire wearing much more than the left tire. A After jacking up the front end and checking for anything loose, it seemed to be all tight. What could cause the unusual wear? Think.

Mine did this, too. I found the tie rod & drag link were both bent after they had been rubbing for years.

Wearing "where" on the tire. It could be one of many things including worn parts however it could also be over/under inflation or poor driving habits. For the immediate time you should consider tire rotation which should be under your preventive maintenance plan.

Mine seem to wear on the inner tread quicker than the outer tread area, as Brent mentioned, rotating tires every 500 miles or so will do the most good, barring any bent or ill fitting steering / front end assemblies.

Toe in/out, caster, camber out of whack. Over/under inflation of tires.

Wrong toe in/toe out would wear both tires the same. Too much toe out scuffs/wears from the inside to the outside. Too much toe in scuffs/wears from the outside to the inside. Could your worn R/F tire, just be low on pressure?
Once, both my fronts were wearing on the inside & the outside, dumb ass me, my 19" Firestones had only 12 Lbs pressure & didn't even look low or mushy! Once Gregg couldn't push Vermin, with it's 16's up the driveway, tires didn't look low, you guessed it! pumped them up & ZOOM!!! Bill W.

The one tire is wearing fairly even. Not on eith edge. Thanks, for the ideas. Could be a bent tie rod. John

A bent tie rod should make both tires wear equally. I'd look for low tire pressure if both outsides of the tread is wearing. If only one side is wearing I'd look for a bent axle.

John, a bent tie rod will cause more toe out and will affect both tires equally, causing wear from the inside of the tread to the outside on both. If ONLY the R/H tie rod end is loose, that could cause the R/H tire ONLY to toe out & cause only that tire to wear from the inside to the outside. Bill W.
