I don't know their specific name, but are they exactly the same, Somehow it looks like I am installing them wrong. The one on the right the hole is lined up if I push it down on the spring.

They look right. An easy way to remember is "right up your alley". The right one is up.

The flat bar attached to the spare tire carrier, what does it bolt to? I have one and don't know what to do with it.

I just noticed that your two levers aren't even. I noticed the wide spacing on the right spring. I wonder if the rods are all the way against the steering bracket? Or maybe the part isn't pinned yet? |

Go ahead and pin it, as they look correct. Are you using roll pins, or solid pins that need the ends peened?

Planned on solid pins, I have not peened them yet though.

It sure helps to have a second person to hold the end of the column, or use a sky hook.
![]() I just clamp a heavy piece of angle iron in the vice and set one end of the pin on it while I use a hammer and punch to peen the other end. Then I turn it over and peed the other end. It's tight trying to get a support under the pin, but it can be done. ![]() |
