Wow. Worth double I would think. Pickups are so desirable right now.

Lots of damage on that truck. Looks like it has been sitting with all the rusty spots. Possibly some good parts though.

At $9000. No way. Pick ups are desirable, but their value range is still narrow. They cost just as much to restore as any other car, paint, chassis and other things are all the same. This one's wrecked, you can see the radiator was pushed into the fan. There's $1000 for a radiator. Bodywork, paint, maybe frame straightening, two fenders need replacement and other potentially hidden problems.

Restorations aren't cheap, and some parts are getting tough to source as people that made things die off.

That might be worth $9k in parts if the engine is good, the Columbia is good, the bed, etc. But the person that is interested in the bed might be 1000 miles away from you!

Your opinion only. Just like mine. After 55+ years of messing with these old fords I know well what it takes to repair/rebuild/restore these old gems. My collection includes a 36 pickup so stay up on values.

Opinions, we all have them.

I walked from a locally offered 36 restored in the 90’s sat in a carport since then in AZ at $10k Paint flaked on the doors, needs glass, needs tires, needs the converted hydraulic brake system rebuilt, paint faded beyond repair, hasn’t run in 20 years.

Tires, $1k, glass $1k, brakes $1k, brittle seat upholstery replaced $500, just to get it running, if it even runs. You’d be $15k in a Home Depot driver.

Way too many nice pickups in the 20-28k range to mess with this wreck. A excellent pickup is $35k, a patina driver 36’ coupe is $35k. Other body styles in this condition are worth the price. A projec pickup vs a nice pickup has a narrow value. Restorations aren’t cheap, that’s why many aren’t doing them anymore.

The pricing on early pickups seems to differ greatly between the west coast and east coast.

That '36 PU wouldn't be for me. I'd have to hire out too much of the work...

Yes I'd agree a person would be money ahead to find a 2- condition pickup for lower 30's a turn key truck, and jump in and go. Easier to write a check for one already done than restore that vehicle....
