Default Center Clamp Mounting Hardware

The first picture is the way I mounted the center clamp on my May 29 Coupe. I mounted it this way because of you look at the JS (second picture from top) it shows the hidden line closest to the bumper. Thus I mounted it this way.

However I believe the clamp should be reversed.Which way is correct?

Thanks - Hunter

I believe the way you have it mounted is correct; it keeps the bumper upper and lower bars in line with one another.

This is the way I mounted my center bumper medalion on my Dec. 27 early vehicle.

Oh My! I have a new '29 center clamp to install, which way will I face the bar??? I hope I don't lose sleep tonight! Should it's background be painted blue? (Seriously!) Bill W.

Mine is mounted the other way, but then it started life in Canada. Theory was that there should be a little tension if mounted opposite to your photo & stop centre medallion coming off? Will have to check other original cars now!

Thanks all.

Peter I think you are correct, I don't see how this would work if turned around as the stud length would be too short.

At least it would be for the original center clamp that I have.

Thanks - Hunter
