Re: Rumble seat
you need to find a set of orig trunk hinges the repo ones dont fit (even the USA made ones, I tried) and you need to change out the curved inner panel to the inner panel used for a trunk and then you need to move your rumble handle to the trunk area of the lid. I used a repo inner panel, it will fit with some rework, so if you can find an orig one you will be much better off. also you need to add the piece that holds the trunk lid open and the rubber stops and rt and left trunk lid alignment shims

Re: Rumble seat
Since getting my "new" 29 coupe, I had considered changing it to a rumble seat. But after reading some comments about having a trunk rather that a rumble, maybe I should forget it. From the comments, most people seem to prefer the trunk.

Re: Rumble seat
Like Fred does, you can just take the cushions out and use it as a trunk. This eliminates the need to weld up the rumble handle, repaint the deck lid, find hinges and change the inner panels. Then in that blue moon instance when someone actually wants to ride in the rumble seat, you have the option to do that as well.

Re: Rumble seat
If it is a factory rumble, I would NOT change it.

Re: Rumble seat
IMO, rumble seats were one of the unique things of the era vehicles; therefore desirable.
After the most frequent question of "What year is it?, comes "Does it have a rumble seat?"
