Default 53 Ford Car Center Grille

Anyone familiar with the installation of a 53 Ford Center Grille installation? The part with the bullet nose? I have the center section figured out, and the attachment bolt above the parking light. From there it turns the corner around the outside of the fender. My grille bar doesn't seem to go back far enough to engage the bolt with the nutplate. It is probably an inch from the hole. Is there some sort of bracket that goes between the grille bar and the fender to make this line up? Seems to be the same on both sides. Thanks for any help.

This is a picture of the 1953 Ford Grille that Tommy is asking question about the instillation of the centre bullet. Can anyone help him?

Mine is not attached to the fenders. Just the center bracket behind the bullet and the attachment above the parking lamp on either side.

Do you have a pic of the hole in question? I can check mine to see after work today.

There seems to be a cap nut on the photos that I have looked at. Thanks.

There is a bolt brace that goes there to tie the hood lock support to the radiator support.
Part # BA-19924-A with 3/8 -16 nuts and washers.

I did try that, and there is a notch on top that goes over the chrome piece.

Thanks
