Default RPU wiper

I had a clamp on wiper mounted to the top of the windshield in my 1931 RPU. Since I installed the new top, the wooden header as part of the bow assembly precludes me from having this wiper. I would like to install an electric wiper, I am willing to drill the frame, but the wood in front of the window frame leaves me no space. Am I missing something here? Should I notch the header or has anyone mounted the wiper to the bottom section of the frame?
Thanks
Warren

What kind of top do you have? There shouldn't be any wood by the windshield.

Attached are pictures of the windshield wiper from my '31 RDPU which I believe is correct. Note the vacuum tube exits from the left and the curved part faces up (opposite from a roadster). Any chance you are trying to mount a wiper on the outside of the windshield?

There were Trico motors that had the flat side up. When folks alter the OEM top then what ever goes with it usually has to be altered too. Electric wipers were discontinued in early 1930 but they weren't used on commercial cabs. Commercials were either hand operated or vacuum operated in 1930 and likely part of 1931 as well.

That looks like a model T bow set or similar. Where can I buy one like that? I have checked the Model A suppliers and they all seem to have the wooden header.

I want to use an electric wiper available from several sources. It mounts on the inside of the windshield frame and protrudes through a hole drilled in the frame. Currently, the spike which the wiper blade would attach to, would hit the wooden header which comes down in front of the upper part of the windshield frame.

Long shot but you might try this 50 year old number. Maybe the kids took over the business. I assume the price is no longer valid.
