Default Exploded view of powerhouse generator

Howdy boys, hope you're having a nice Christmas! Ham dinner for us in a few hours. I'm attempting to rebuild a P3 powerhouse generator that was "restored". Upon opening it up, I found sandblasting material inside the works, in the grease, which was everywhere, worn out original bearings, and I think, missing parts. This is the first powerhouse I've had apart, so I don't know what I'm looking at. I'd like to find a schematic of it, but a search on the net hasn't been fruitful. If any of you know where I might obtain a schematic, exploded view, whatever you want to call it, of the powerhouse generators, please let me know. I can't find any videos of how to rebuild one either. Maybe I'll make one when I find all the parts. Thanks guys, don't eat too much!

Merry Christmas there are pictures on old threads if you can use the search feature here. Tom Wesenberg is the guy to talk with about the powerhouse, but he's been awful sick. Let's see if anyone else can come thru.

The powerhouse generators are actually easy to rebuild. Without seeing your generator, it is hard to tell what it needs, but I recommend that you get sealed bearings which are available. The smaller is the same as the pilot shaft bearing in your flywheel. As long as the brush holder is not broken, you are in good shape. If it is, you may be able to use Super Glue and get it back together. The field coils can be reworked and the armature usually can be repaired if needed. This is all an over-simplification to what you need but as I said, they are really pretty easy to work on.

Another quick one if I may, I would assume the Dust Cover and Slinger wouldn't be necessary if one were to use a sealed bearing? Thanks guys!

The New Departure bearings are sealed - probably always have been.

The two I'm working on are both New Departure, but neither are sealed. Surely original.
Just bought new ones today from our local parts house. Timkin. Still, I assume the spring, slinger, etc., doesn't need to go back in. Thanks.

Bearings are typically available in 3 styles, seal on 2 sides, seal on 1 side or no seals.

Do they carry the same number?

I'd use them just for correct spacing.

The basic number is the same but they have different suffixs, see: https://www.skf.com/ca/en/products/r...gnation-system
