Default Winfield VZ194 Puller?

OK probably obvious to most of you, but what is this tool for? I googled it and came up with nothing.

Thanks!

I still think that’s a steering wheel puller Jim. That’s my best guess

Think steering wheel puller. VZ usually designates Zephyr.

Me too. It looks close to the Snap-On steering wheel puller I have. It grabs the wheel under the hub. I put some rubber around mine so it will hopefull mot crack the bakelite or as I call it the crackalot.

I just looks at some steering wheels out in the garage. A '32, a '34 and a '39 and those three do "not" have the two bolt holes that you normally use to pull a steering wheel. There is a '40 wheel out there that does have the two bolt holes. I learned something today.

I have a 1948 ford 8N tractor. During the pre-internet days I took the nut off the wheel and no matter what tool I used and how hot I heated that steering wheel hub I could not get that wheel off????? The steering wheel screws on to the shaft and the nut locks it in place. How was I suppose to know that! Maybe the threads are stronger than a keyway? The shaft might be solid. Its been awhile I don't remember.
