Water Wetter is good. I use it with distilled water and a small bottle of antirust/pump lube. No anti freeze in FL.

I would add more corrosion inhibitor though, based on my experience.

I'd fix the radiator for sure if you are having a cooling issue. However, my brother in law owns a speed shop and drags races with big power and swears by water wetter. He is a mechanical engineer by trade and has done a lot of research on it...he sees a drop of 10-30 degrees in his 1000+ hp cars. Have heard that water wetter hasn't been formulated or tested on unpressurized system though so it may be less useful there...I still use it, my two cents.

X3. I have not used it in my A, but I do in my 55 Chevy. I also would do whatever you need to do to fix any cooling system problems, THEN use the Water Wetter.

Horribly inflated price. Wayne

Doesn't have to freeze often. Once is enough to crack the block.

I had terrible rust in an engine from using it for anti corrosion with water one summer. If you read the instructions it says for street use always use it with some antifreeze.

i am suprised you guys in sunshine states dont use gly anyways, just for the corrosion resistance, and the extra cooling over water.

Exactly! However, Ora Landis gave me a bottle when I picked up my new engine from him. Coming from him, that says something.

The principle behind "water wetter" is that it reduces the size and formation of bubbles at surfaces inside the engine water jacket. This enables better heat transfer from the engine to the coolant. In addition to Red Line, Amsoil also has it. Also, distilled (de-ionized) water might not be a good choice (as per instructions on Amsoil bottle). Water from a Reverse Osmosis system (if you have one) would be better.

Just facts from experiences:

A. If one starts out with a "clean", and functional original Model A radiator and engine block that can function well in 115 degree heat; and

B. If one uses only distilled water or rain water, as opposed to well water or spring water in constant contact with the earth's dissolved minerals; and,

C. Mixed with 50/50 "Prestone" anti-freeze;

D. Your original Model A radiator and block will continue to function faultlessly for at least over 55 years ...... from experience.

E. Paragraph A. above, ignored constantly by so many Model A owners, is of utmost importance.
