Re: Gas Tank Straps
If they are like the 57 (I am assuming here) they can be bought at Concourse, or Auto City Classics.

Re: Gas Tank Straps
Ford made lots of general upgrades and changes for '57. If I had to make a wild guess, I'd think the tank straps from '55 and '56 were more similar.

Re: Gas Tank Straps
I have a pair from a Victoria. They need to have the undercoating scraped off and paint but they are solid. Pm me if you are interested with an offer.

Re: Gas Tank Straps
Pretty sure from having been under '52-'54 Fords and being under a '55 a lot that '52-'56 is the same for gas tank straps. I've never seen any originals that couldn't be cleaned up and reused.

Re: Gas Tank Straps
To me it looks they are both the same. The description is the same for both other than the part #'s. The B7 being for the 57 and the B6 for the 56 but other than that,I think that they would interchange. I do see that the suffix letter on the 57 is a C and the 56 is a A.
Maybe that would make a difference. I personally would try the 55/56 straps. According to the measurements above, they would fit ok. Than again, like others have mentioned here, you can clean up the old ones and re-use them. KultuLZ always comes up with great literature on most fords, he is of great help to all of us here in the group. Thanks Kultulz for always helping out. |

Re: Gas Tank Straps
Just a note -
B7 PREFIX for the 52/54 indicates a 1957 FORD part application as a SERVICE REPLACEMENT for the 52/54. I have very little experience in pre-1957 as I just never went there. And THANX! for the kind words. My head began to swell at reading it and my glasses fell off ...
