Default 28-29 Closed Cab mirror bracket...

About when did the 28-29 Closed Cab Pickup/Truck mirror bracket go from the top of the pillar to just above the middle of the pillar?

Thanks.

Did the AA's change at the same time or keep the early mirrow longer?

Steve, I believe in 28, early?, the mirror bracket was also fastened to the two screws that hold the visor on. I have a mid 28, and the bracket is fastened on those screws and there is also a picture of a 28 closed cab in "The Model A as Henry Built It", that also has the mirror bracket mounted up on the visor. The door pillar does not have any holes.

The plate was also used on the deluxe delivery instead of D-nuts. Since I do not know the appox date of my delivery body I can not help on when it may have been introduced. The mirror bracket on the deliver is about midway down the window. Here are pic's of the early 30 cab that shows it in the lower position also. Rod

This January of 29 AA has it lower also. I do not know if it has the plate or D-nuts. Rod

Follow up to this question:

Is there supposed to be a rubber gasket between the mirror and the window post? I cannot find them in a catalog.

I do not think so. I have removed 2 broken ones and did not see one on either of them.

My 4/19/29 firewall date truck has D-nuts in the middle of the pillar.
