Default Mail order flathead speed equipment 1955

I didn't realize manifolds with four barrels were available then.

Four barrels were first offered on American cars in 1952 (Carter, Rochester and Stromberg), so it makes sense to me that aftermarket four barrel manifolds were offered in '55. Flatheads were still very popular then.

What is item #4? It looks like a 3x 4 manifold but I can't really tell.

That was what it looked like when I first looked at it, but it's easy to see that those holes have a shiney spot at the 12 o'clock of each hole. That's a 3 X 2 manifold. DD

#4 appears to be a Y Block triple carb manifold

This appears to be from Montgomery Ward. Sears used to sell their own line of "Speed Equipment" as well. I remember seeing a set of "Allstate" heads on a race car at Minnesota Dragways in 1961. The owner had tried to grind off the "Allstate" name, but it was still legible. He was probably embarrassed by running the Sears stuff. I wish I had a pair today!
