Default Hydrostatic Fuel Gauge, when?

When did Ford switch from the hydrostatic fuel gauge to the electric gauge. I have the service bulletins that say pre 1935 was hydrostatic. I did some work on a 1935 pickup recently that had a hydrostatic fuel gauge. Is it possible this truck was built early 1935 before the change to electric?
