I will has a 37 rearaxle on my 32 5W coupe and use Lincon brakes.
I has bought Lincoln 41 wheels ( 5 x 16 ) but they is not at shop yet. I sold my ( I had only 1 ) outies seats Fomoco 5 x 16. This 37 axles is the same CC as ex a 35-41 at 59.5” but the 32-34 was 57.75”. So diff each side from a 32 to a 37 is 7/8” more. I can’t say if brakes std Ford to Lincoln 39-47 is the same in wideness I will use the Firestone 7.50 x 16 tires. I don’t know backspace on the Lincoln wheels but I has a Halibrand Solids 6 x 16 on tires now. If I has turbine side out, that wheels has from tire wall to brake surface near 5”. I can say that’s way deeper that the Lincoln Wheel will give me. But even on that distance the wheels is way to far out to look nice. -If anyone has a ex 36 axle and this type of tires and a Ford steel wheel 4-5”, can you measure both tire center CC ? ( just ruff ) Combination is rather common my guess. Last edited by 3W Hank; 12-04-2024 at 12:46 AM. |

What does "CC" mean?
I know "WMS" means Wheel Mounting Surface to Wheel Mounting Surface. For instance, the rear WMS to WMS on a 40 Ford car is 59 1/2 in. |

Maybe he's asking about wheel "center-to-center" ??

Perhaps but, from what center to what center is being measured?
I know wheelbase distance is measured "center to center" of wheel from front to back. For instance, the wheelbase of a 40 Ford coupe is 112 in. |

Wouldn't the WMS (wheel mounting surface) be essentially the same as the center of the wheel itself making the measurements the same (plus or minus any wheel offset)?

I mention of CC.
I'mean as you was into WMS, or drum to drum. As I read the 35-41 axle has a 59.5", this must be the WMS. Sorry of confuse the term. Then.. I asked for 'CC' aswell on my example, in that case I'mean center of the tire to tire. ---------------- -If anyone has a ex 36 axle and this type of tires and a Ford steel wheel 4-5”, can you measure both tire center CC ? ( just ruff ) Combination is rather common my guess. |

Thanks for explaining the meaning of "CC". Of course, "CC" will vary depending on rim offset.

The example I gave must be common, 36 axle, 4 or 5 inch Ford steel wheels.
