Default 7 Tooth Gearbox Trouble Reassembly

Hey guys need some help trying to re-assemble my gear box.
Pulled the lower bushing assembly to fix a bad oil leak.
Now trying to re-install the steering shaft is not centered and will not budge.
A in-site would be appreciated .
Thx

Sounds like the upper bush is worn, and if the column has a slight bend, then it can cause the shaft to be out of alignment. It might be a pain, but you might need to take the wheel off, pull the controls out and pop the anti rattle bush at the top out. With this out, you can leave the shaft in the upper bush and see if the lower bush will fit. After 95+ years of helping people in and out of the drivers seat, columns can be a bit wonky. This could also be why the lower ush leaked in the first place.
