I can still lift the hood off my 1930 Model A but it is difficult and I worry about damaging it by dropping it. I rigged a sky hook using an old bicycle lift. The lift has two rubber tipped hooks. I spaced the hooks apart so that there is a little compression force to keep the hooks engaged. The lift has a locking mechanism and the forward and aft parts of the hood can be move up or down to get the hood to engage with the holes for the center rod.

A is for apple, green as the sky. Step on the gas, for tomorrow I die. Forget the brakes, they really don't work. The clutch always sticks, and starts with a jerk. My car grows red hair, and flies through the air. Driving's a blast, a blast from the past. |
