Default Another Interesting Bodied A at Denmark Model A meeting

I saw these photos on Facebook this weekend from a Model A Ford meeting in Denmark.

CLICK HERE TO SEE ALL THE PHOTOS

I initially thought it was a Buehrig Model A, but the rear top is different. I know there was also a Draus and a Habsburg, but they too also appear to be different.

Perhaps Brad in Germany can weigh in! In the meantime, enjoy the pics!

Here is the Buehrig

Drauz

Habsburg

That maroon Cabriolet is interesting. I love the cover on the side mount spare tire and the trunk is also interesting.

I like the wider doors on the Drauz and the Habsburg Cabriolet.

Car belong to my brother since middle of May, it is sold new in Denmark, and as you can se interior and top is original, fendershirts and Trunk can be added later as a modernnization.

It is belived to have had 5 owners before my brother, 3 og which is known members of the Danish Model A Club in period mid 60,ties to present, last owner owed it since 1974, I have talk with the owner before him (and his brother), Cars has alvays been named as a Gläser Cabriolet.

At present there are no tags on the car, but many details to be found on other Gläser cars, at the bottom of the cowl (right front) there is 3 screwholes which indicates that there maybe has been at tag, Owner -2 claims that he has screw'ed an Ambi-Budd mark of the car and that he got it somwhere, althrough his brother remeber seeing a Gläser tag on the car an his discription of the tag is correct.

You can see allot of Glaser's influence in these cars that he later helped produce. Very interesting.

Here are some photos from the 1931 Berlin Auto show. These cars are Wanderers built by Glaser. Note the car in the center of the photo.

1931 Glaser Wanderer. I notice that they did not do the fender treatment on this car.

Hej Henrik,

Thanks for filling in some of the details on this car......and glad that Thomas is driving it around, after its rather long sleep on Bornholm.

Here is a photo of the Ambi-Budd manufacturer's plate from the Model A era. Note the three mounting holes! The top one is an original and the bottom one is a repro.

The next photo is of a Model A era Drauz manufacturer's plate, which also has three mounting holes.

The Drauz manufacturer's plates were mounted on the driver's side door post (when you open the left door, you would see it attached to the vertical wood frame inside the front door jam). The next photo shows the Drauz manufacturer's plate mounting location in a Drauz bodied Model A (the plate has been removed in this photo, but the three rusty mounting nails are visible as is the plate outline). Note the additional number tag.

The Gläser manufacturer's plate only has two holes (located horizontally). Here is a photo of the Glaser plate. Gläser manufacturer plates were mounted on the bottom of the outside of the cowl.

Fordially,
Brad in Maryland

Hej Brad

Yes since delivery 17/5 Thomas has done 2 tours and about 500 kilometers, Saturday we vill dispay it on an local marketday.

Radiator seem to need an replacementc as it runs over 90 degree C when driving more than 65 kmh.

Can you give me the lenght between the holes on the Ambi-bud mark so I can compare with the 3 ones on rigth button og cowl.

Do you know any coupling between Ambi-Bud and the Body builders is body by Ambi-bud and choachwork by Gläser ect.

Any informations about Habsburg as it has some similaryties with Thomas´ car

regards
Henrik

PS didt you see the Danish Drautz Cabriolet betore it was sold out of the Contry?

Here is a photo of right side bottom of cowl, there shurely has been a tag, but it is "borrowed" by somone in the cars eaylier life. Hope that is the Ambi-bud tag former owner before former owner claims he screwed of about 1972 - 73 and says that he have some place.

But Ambi-bud was a panel maker to my knowledge not a body maker

That looks a lot like my 31 Glaser except for the fender treatment. I have a picture of that car taken in the late 60's with a note that it was in Denmark.

Ronn, I am pretty sure beer goggles wouldn't help me.........

Hendrik, thats why I prefaced it with no offence, intended. The european styling just aint my thing.......

Oh, almost forgot, you'll never see a stone guard or white walls on my A's....
