What does early 29 mean? Does it mean that Model As built in Nov. and Dec. of 28 are early 29 models? My question is, when did the early pan with the clean-out go away? Or, when did Ford start using the pan without the clean-out?

Of the few unrestored January and February 1929 engines I've seen, I don't recall them having the round plate oil pan.

MID is May through August (28-31); LATE is September through December (28-31) EARLY 28 also includes all the 1927 vehicles. This is according to the MARC/MAFCA RG's and JS's page 8, Revised 2011, Judging the Model A/AA Section. Pluck |

Early '29's WILL have the "D" nuts in the L/R for the drum tail light bracket. Bill W.
