Interesting on the roadster, it's got a state issued VIN/title. Lot of money for a non-number matching car. How did it get all those awards if not "original"??

It may be a number matching car. Maybe the owner didn't want to remove the body to proove it . May have had problems getting the car registered-titled and ended up with a state issued title to cut through red tape.

Engine A482090 is much earlier than 1931.
Invariably there's a good reason why many cars go to auction.

PS ...that's an Oct 1928 engine number.
