I tried this yesterday but it didn't post so here goes again.
I am trying to find out the year of rhe Camaro rear end I am installing into my 47 Ford. The code is 2 PH G2 74 2 if I have read it right. Hard to see it even though I have cleaned it up. It might br 2 PH G2/4 2 but seems to be the first one. Hopefully some of you readers will be able to decipher this and give the year it was made. I' ve tried the Internet but haven't found the year so far. I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks Herb |

Methinks you should post this on the Hamb. Probably not too many Camaro rears on this forum.

Why not find a 55 stovebolt hardtop, cut the top off to make a rattey thing rod, cut the springs out from under it, put a mustang front thing under the front and a 58 Mercury rear end and springs under the back. Makes more sense than cutting up a 47 Ford that was engineered right to begin with.

O.K. you guys jump on this guy for posting a question before you have all the facts. Maybe he might need an open drive rear end because he's putting 5 speed or C-4 behind a flathead. Why don't you ask a few questions before you start beating up on the guy. Lots of guys on here have modified flathead cars.
