![]() I'm posting this here as I think most people on the barn, are like me and find these videos facinating even though they had nothing to do with the "A"
There are two videos, one showing many things GE was working on in 1933. And the second video showing quite a few steps in the process of making a 1933 GE Monitor top refrigerator. Part 1. http://youtu.be/turuilWlynw Part 2. The refrigerator http://youtu.be/1TKzuEUN7cY |

I didn't see your post until now but I think Hershey may have something to do with the responses.

I got lucky, I'm from MIchigan, and my job had me working in PA about 30 minutes from Hershey... well without traffic anyway. I was able to slide in there for about 1.5 hours. Enough to know I need to use some vacation time next time.

I find it interesting that many of the compressor parts on the monitor top were "machined to a few ten-thousandths of an inch" as per one of the engineers that worked on it. The video shows them checking this which I guess backs up his statement.

Ironic combination of casual description (a few) and very precise terms (ten-thousandths of an inch)... who says engineers don't have a sense of humor... ![]() |
