Default clacky noise follow up

It turned out that the timming gear was loose (real loose). in spite of the fact that I had torqued it to 100 ft. lbs.! The aluminum gear was worn due to wobeling so I replaced it but this time I added locktight as well as torquing it. Thanks guys for the help. Nothing beats the brain power and experience of the Fordbarn.

I am glad you found the problem and have it corrected. I was hoping that is what I would find in the engine for the delivery, but it was the center main instead. No shims were left anywhere in the engine, so it was due for rebuild anyway. Rod
