I have a narrow bed pickup box that has a solid link, like a chain link in the rear corners of the box by the tailgate - see picture. I have another pickup box that doesn't have the link. I guess I haven't been paying attention to pickup boxes and never noticed the area before. Is the link supposed to be there? It seems like it must have been installed at the factory. I see no way it could easily be installed afterward. If someone has a picture of the correct way the upper rear corner of a pickup box should look, would they please post a picture of it. This box was used as a trailer before I rescued it a couple years ago.
Thanks for any help with this. Rusty Nelson ![]() |

Yes - that link looks correct
It does two things, the tailgate chain attaches to this link, and it also slips over the "ears" on the tailgate to lock it in place Don't have any pictures - but you should be able to see what I mean if you have a Mack Hils truck parts catalog |
