Default 48 trans dissasembly

I have the cluster shaft, reverse idler shaft and gear removed as well as rear bearing retainer and front throw-out bearing retainer out of the trans.
If I remember correctly the cluster should drop down into the case so as to pull the input shaft out the front of the case?
Cluster does not want to slip down to the bottom of the case.
What am I missing here?

Thanks, Steve

They only move down about 1/2" at most. Try tapping on it from above with a brass drift. Sometimes the old grease/sludge (or rust if the trans has seen water) keeps it sitting in place.

Thanks Mac,
Smacked it with a brass drift and dropped right down.
