I have replacement door hinge pins that are slightly oversize. They measure .245. What drill size do I use on my hinges ? I definately don't want to drill too big. Thanks, Paul

I don't know the exact size, but when I have to drill out something like that the first thing I do is to grind or file down the head of the rivet or pin so I can see the outline of the pin. Then you can measure the pin and also it is a lot easier to centerpunch so you can drill more accurately. If you still can't see the pin outline after filing, put a welding torch on the pin area until it heats up enough to make the outline clear.

Sounds like you are wanting to drill the hinge to fit the oversize pin, not drill a pin out of the hinge. Just guessing but a 1/4' inch or .250 would allow .005 for clearance. If you want less I'd have to check letter or number size drills to see if there is something in between.
