Default new project

When I get tired of sanding on Tillie ('28 Pickup) preping her for a complete new paint job, I relieve the stress by working on the new project. Yep, guys I have gone over to the other side. That is a Ranger Pickup 2.3 liter engine going in a Model A (extended cab) pickup, eventually to also have an automatic tranny. Note: my wife cant/wont drive a car with one of those clutch thingee in it - at least that is my justification.

I will have to use the short/small oil filter then it will fit - down side is it will get changed more often. Plan is to use a F100 steering gear box which might aggrevate the problem, though. As of now the plan is to convert to an open driveline, thus no TT needed. Plans are still developing.

BTW. i have a pair of Pickup doors that have the patches in them, a set/pair of rear door post for a Fordoor that will be converted and the Rear section (quarter window and rear) of a Fordor that will make up the "extended" part. All salvaged from hotrodders. Its gonna be some major sheetmetal work.

This custom one (pictured below) is on eBay right now. Says it has been extended 12", ...which IMO that is a bunch! Great for leg room in the cabin I suppose but I'm thinkin' its gonna look really funny in the bed area.

Might be worth extending the frame by the same amount if an open driveline is going to be swapped in anyway. It would definitely look great I think.

Along with the frame comes body aprons and running boards. Might also be worth noting that the cowl Ken is showing in his picture above ain't from a 1928/29 Model-A either. Not sure how we all went down that trail???

With all the sheet metal work ahead anyway, it would just be a drop in the bucket right

I did not realize that a Ranger engine would bolt right up to a Model A bell housing?

Theres a 4 door pickup thats been at quite a few of the nationals lately. I talked to him a few years back, im pretty sure he used a '32 ford frame, 4 door interior, but i cannot remember how the back doors were set up. I'm sure others know which truck im talking about, its a dark green with 16 inch wheels, weber, 4 speed overdrive, and im sure im forgetting something else.... Its only been 4 years since ive seen it

Maybe I will add a 28-29 style Extension behind the 30-31 Cowl section.
Since no radiator is shown I might put a Volkswagon radiator on it.
Maybe Dodge Power Wagon Wheeels.
Moon Roof????
Drill and Tap the block to accept the A Flywheel Housing and Bell Housing.
Right Hand Steering. Yeah!!!
This project could be REALLY fun. Ken
