Actually I'm really concerned about the seat riser / base being close to the same size in the pick ups. I think 28/ 29 are different from the 30/31 but not sure. Anyone know off the top of your head how much difference there is between 28 thru 33? I know this is off the wall but I want to make a batch of replacement seat frames and need to know what will fit where. I have access to a few of these years but not all. Thanks guys for the help and allowing me to tap your brains!

I'm not that familiar with models after 1931 but believe the '32 metal seat and riser are wider. I can say that there were THREE versions for model A's. In mid-late 1931 the front of the riser (and seat cushion) was moved back 2".

Check the suppliers, I think what you are considering is already available. The way I understand what you are proposing is to make what is generally referred to as the seat springs (some of them have wood in the base). Do you think there is a market for additional suppliers?

I have a '33 standard pickup, not the BIG truck. I got the whole seat and back frame assembly from Lebaron Bonney including the upholstery kit. Came with spring set for back and seat and wood frames. Let me know if you need dimensions or pics.

They mass produce them and you buy what they make. This business has been very good to us and Id like to help out the guys with the trucks as well. I'm not going to compete with the Lebaron Bonney with the original wood kits. But our goal is to get the guys off of the unsafe foam plywood seats and give them something that is going to be substantial yet safe and as comfortable. All the while keeping a very competitive price when compared to what is available now. Its not for everyone but I really think there is market for them. Most would like them to mount directly to the existing seat riser thus the size questions. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...d.php?t=615201 I started a group a couple of weeks ago on the Hamb and we are up to 81 members already? I dont know? ![]() http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/g...hp?groupid=742 Last edited by Metal Twister; 04-13-2012 at 01:56 PM. |

Bob, I hope these will help you.
Front to back measures 17.5" Width across front measures 42", across back end is 46" 34" center to center of mount stud holes. The ends are all rounded, they follow the metal riser. Cab floor in front of seat riser measures 43.5" from door to door. Front of seat riser at mounting studs measures 41". |

Thanks soooo much! That is a great help. And a very nice seat you have there by the way! They sure build a good quality product. Thanks again for the help.
