Does anyone have a drawing with dimensions of a shipping crate for a Model A engine? I have tried to find information in SEARCH section with no success.
Thanks for your time. Cape Codder |

Cape Codder, I just got my crate back a couple hours ago from Antique Engine Rebuilding Skokie,IL. My crate is 36" long x 23" wide x 33- 1/2" tall with a custom made pallet and plywood inclosed . It may have been a little overkill, but I drive a big rig and I know how they take care of freight. I sent a long block engine in this crate . I don't know how to download photos, but if you have a cell phone I could send them to it, be glad to.

Hope these come through. The skid is 20"X40" and is 32" high. The ends are screwed to the runners and are 38" tall.

Two comments. I have heard of some guys going to their local car dealer (I think it was a GM dealer) and getting a crate from one of the motors they had received. They then modified it to fit a Model A. A second suggestion is that maybe the person doing the rebuild would have a crate to loan on plans for one.
