The rear and front cross members are the same on 26/27 model chassis. The front crossmember was modified to accept the newer fender brackets. Also, the 26/27 chassis was designed to give a lower appearance. Earlier chassis had minor variations like hand brake quadrant, running board bracket length, fender irons etc.. It kind of depends on how original you want to make it. Personally, I would look for a '26/'27 chassis and keep it as original looking as possible. Just my opinion and good luck.

Agree. Too many changes with '26-'27 frame, you will have issues trying to restore an Improved Car '26-'27 body on a pre-26 frame, even more issues on a pre-'20 frame.

Good '26-'27 frames aren't hard to find. Pic is the correct frame for your roadster.

The rear cross member is about 6 inches wider on each side on the 26-7 models as well to align with the trunk pan bracing, and has a rolled edge for strength and the spring U bolts to hold positition better. ws

Fartman, The '26-'27 frame can be disassembled for shipment to save space and money. Just some food for thought. I'd definitely stick with the correct-year frame when it comes to the last two years of T frames. The rest aren't so terribly, terribly different.
