I wonder if anyone has ever restored a Standrive Model AA Ford.
These were vehicles where the frame was cut in half and lowered the mid section so the driver could "stand" while driving. Were there Model A Standrive vehicles? Has anyone ever seen or have one of these? Pluck |

25 years ago a guy named Walt Kritemeyer had one here in CT. He moved down south at least 20 years ago, and I dont know where he now is, or if he is still alive. He also had a nice original pickup, and a tudor that he fitted with a pedal set on the right side, so he could deliver rural mail.

I had a milk delivery truck standrive, sold it in 2008 to Ray Zeigler, believe in Pennsylvania????. He was restoring it and kept me updated with pics etc but haven't heard from him in a few years. Would have loved to have kept it but knew I would never get it done so sold it to Ray for $1000. Mine was a true standrive but then had a swingaway seat, kind of like an old tractor seat that you could swing forward to sit on if you wanted to. The pedals were pushed straight down onto the floor. Could still see the ad painted on the side, phone number was Elk31 if I remember right. The wood kit around the windows etc were a work of art, curved machined pieces that were beyond my skills to reproduce, even having the patterns. The door was basically just like an old screen door with a spring holding it shut, glass instead of screen.

There is one in the Elliott Museum down in Florida, I took some shots of the pedal and steering wheel setup. Don't have those pics on this computer but can find them this weekend.
I remember the throttle and spark levers were unique as was the shift lever. -Tim

I also was in contact with Ray Zeigler around 2008. Have pictures and will look them up and send you copies. These photos are now in a collection I have donated to my local Model A Club Library, SOOO, Pluck give me a few days and you will get the photos and info. Jim Langley...

I noticed in the last picture Vince posted that the chassis has a solid mount
front cross member for the engine, I though only the early long wheel base trucks had that. Bob |

So the question is...Just how many of these puppies were made?
In 1931, only 201 in the USA and 12 in Walkerville (Canada) for a total of 213. 1932 saw 246 worldwide. Pluck |

My research indicates that the parallel framed AA157 used the same front cross member as the AA131. The 1930 tapered framed AA157 used the solid front engine support. The use of the solid front engine support for the 112" Standrive frame is new information to me. ? Have you seen my 11/10/15 email? Maybe it has gone into your trash file.
