Default Winfield Cast Iron Head

Did winfield cast any identifying marks onto his cast iron heads to identify the different versions and compression rations?

I understand that Windield iron heads all had serial numbers cast into them, mine does. And the first digit designated the compression, such as 6XXXXX was 6 to 1 and 7XXXXX was 7 to 1. I do not know what the other digits denoted.

The first digit is the compression ratio, followed by a serial number. It seems that all were not marked.

The Winfield that I had in the '50s just had his name on the water hump from the outlet to nearly the back of the head.
