Rear Window Blind Replacing in a 34 Ford sedan ??

I Have a 1934 Ford 4 Dr sedan with a rear window blind, I have a new blind replacement cloth , the roller is original metal with the seam of the cloth in a small groove looks Very tight , how does one get the old material out and put the new material in the roller ?( looks like the ends may come off the roller, but Not sure) , ANY HELP very much appreciated ,Thanks for your help Barners
