Default Body blocks

Were body blocks painted or left unpainted?

I believe they were painted like the floorboards - a kind of black, stain finish. There have been a number of strings about the black finish. I have used thinned Rustoleum flat black paint or black stain. Either one mimics the original black finish and protects the wood.

The closest thing that I can find to match it is ASPHALT FENCE-POST paint from Tractor supply.
I used Wolman WOODLIFE CREOCOAT.
