Default Ardun Duece TCI Brookville @ BaT

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...-roadster-234/

Impressive car, but aside from that, without a Ford frame, not even a Ford body, (has a 1939 transmission) how can this be registered with a 1932 Ford serial number? *18 135519*. It says "clean title". Titled in Louisiana, can it be a good title in California? Would it be possible and legal if it has the original serial number cut from the original frame and welded into the TCI? No explanation provided on BaT.

It's been in Barrett-Jackson and Mecum auctions. Not sold at $70K on Hagerty in 2018.

How accurate do you suppose the odometer is??

The correct FORD frame stamps set is frequently for Sale in WA, sometimes in Hemm****. The star and the whole works. While a federal crime to stamp a frame , it solves lots of problems. Vin nos. are now in a federal data base- see old posts here. Newc

So, to stamp a frame is illegal, but if you cut out an original serial number of a frame you have the title to, and weld that onto a newly fabricated frame, that should be good to go?

We can clearly see, post 3, that is NOT a Ford stamping. Not even close. As we all know, Ford used their 'own shape' for characters like 1, 6, 9, 8. I have a friend who is retired director of one of my local DMV's. He is well acquainted with proper Ford stampings, and this particular stamping would be a problem. 'Course, I've also found that one's 'mood' has an affect, in that some days they might let something slide, and other days make an issue of it.

Barrett-Jackson and others physically check vehicle ID before they enter the auction. So. Whatever that means.

They were buying the Ardun motor - probably $50+ grand by itself. The car was just a means of rolling it around easy! Lol!
