Is this the type of taillight bracket you have? I can measure the dimensions if it is what you need and post them.

We've discussed the block before. It has been thought that the block was "left over" in the generation of the bed floor boards.
The rear bed boards are shown in diagram on page 112 of the book "The Ford Model A" (as Henry built it) by DeAngelis/Francis/Henry. While not an actual floor board drawing with drawing number, one assumes that the authors (with their Model A acumen) had sufficient attribution for accuracy. Note that two of the boards include a 2-1/2 x 9-1/4 "cutout" which gives space for the pan above the differential housing. The finished cut would result in a cut out piece about 2-3/8 x 9-1/8, which might be divided into thirds or cut in half or cut to desired length. This piece would be 13/16 thick and might or might not include the rabbited groove on one side. If the groove were removed in making the rectangular block, the resultant dimension would be 1-7/8 by something. The parts price list of my ownership is "later" and while it shows the two styles of iron bracket used with this block, it does not show the block as a separate item. Bolts are shown nearby in the listing, but its difficult to determine if the bolts are the bolts used in this application, with upwards of six or seven taillight brackets under description above. One can certainly conclude that the block was made of material that otherwise would be discarded. Most vendors provide "a block" AND the bolting required to mount the block and bracket included as part of a kit. Sounds like a way to go. Joe K
