Though I have a automotive background, I knew nothing about flatheads when I started 18 months ago. Since then I have been through seven engines, built three and have one more in-work
A few members gave public and private advice and I wanted to say thank you to: petehoovie, tubman, 19fordy, Bored&Stroked, Ziggster, glennpm, mart, 5150bat for setting the course and helping inspire me in a positive way. Cheers, I hope all of you are doing well. |

I bet your rusty parts pile's getting pretty deep. Nice work.
Edit to add: I like those black finned heads! |

Wow! You have really come a long way. CONGRATULATIONS. Be sure to let us know how they run when you "fire them up". Well done. QUESTION: What kind of distributor did you use on the engine in the first photo?

Thanks for the mention!
We really enjoy helping folks get into the guts and details of building flathead engines - you've done a great job and I'm glad that we passed on some of our beliefs and knowledge to yah! Thanks for reaching back out to the BARN! |

Beautiful engines! The black one is presented in a way I haven't seen before and it works very well. Thanks for the mention.

The forum is a great resource...data and members. I've been to swap meets, bought parts in AR, MS, LA, OK, TN, TX, IN, MI...all over....buying and selling...learning. The older flathead guys are so nice, and helpful. The "younger" folks are too, but I really enjoy learning and listening to the old stories. I built way more than I intended, particularly because these people and engines are so endearing.
