I have a 32 American built pheaton body that I have a few questions about.
When I got the body the rear doors have no hinges on them and are the front hinges the same as the rears. Also the front seat backing was removed and don’t have one . Was this part shared with other bodies. Thank you

The front door hinges on a 1932 roadster and phaeton are the same, however the upper hinge is different than the lower hinge. The phaeton rear door uses essentially the same hinge as the upper front door hinge though likely with a different hole mount pattern.
I make the roadster and phaeton hinges in investment cast steel, mount holes are not drilled. The front seat back panel is unique to the 1932 phaeton. I do not believe there is a creditable steel one reproduced, I make it in fiberglass. Regardless of original, steel, or fiberglass you will want to reinforce the upper lip with some substantial structure as when you sit in the seat and lean back the stock seat back will flex causing the doors to not align with the latch striker plates. |

Attached are some photos of a '32 phaeton front sea back that might be helpful. Sorry, but I've no dimensions.

Thank you David for the pictures as this will big help when I probably will have to make wheel out the panel. It’s been 20 years since my last 32 pheaton build and lost all my pictures in a flood at the shop. I forgot about the bead on the top as my 1933 pheaton doesn’t have it and also mine is covered with upholstery as well.
Also thank you petehoovie for blowing up the pictures
